inv3z. Offered is a wonderful and rare book entitled The Life of Sir William Wallace, The Governor General of Scotland and Hero of the Scottish Chiefs by Peter Donaldson. Barber and Robinson, Hartford 1824. 166 pages + hard bound cover. If you liked watching Mel Gibson in a skirt in Braveheart, here's your chance to own the book that started it all and a nice early copy at that. Containing his parentage, adventures, heroic achievements, imprisonments and death, drawn from authentic materials of Scottish history.
Fair overall condition. Cover worn and soiled, edges and corners rubbed to boards. Leather spine also worn. Writing ifc and on title page, text heavily foxed throughout, creased corners, good binding, laste 2 pages badly torn with last page having a section at bottom missing, although text appears to be complete. Some other text wear, still it has held up well for 180+ years. Book measures3 3/8"w x 5 5/8" x 5/8". A nice find.
