Offered is a wonderful, early 4 volume set of leather bound books of the landmark prose work arguably the first English novel, entitled The History of Tom Jones, A Foundling, by Henry Fielding, Esquire. Printed by A Small, for Birch and Small Phila 1810. Each volume approx 330 pages. Nice ocndition for age. Leather covers rubbed with wear, a bit dry, 1 cracked. Some edge and corner rubbing, spines frayed at heads and tails. Good bindings, inscribed in ink, some foxing, some creased corners. Each measures 3 7/8"w x 6" x 13/16". A nice find.
